History of Payer
1946 - Eduard Payer founded an enterprise with the aim of developing the
worlds best gentlemans shaver. The choice of location for the
firm was in St Bartholomä, near Graz, Austria.
1960 - Continuous and innovative product development, coupled with product
design and quality, saw PAYER products sold world-wide, marketing their own
line of shavers and as a leading OEM supplier of shavers for other companies
around the world.
1990 - Sales reach 500,000 units.
1992 - The Hungarian located subsidiary company was founded with 50 employees.
2002 - Royal Philips Electronics sells Payer to Elektroprodukte to Hui Holding
Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia. Hui Holdings is a global financial investment company.
Its main investments are in high-precision plastics and metal manufacturing
and development and making of toolings with subsidiaries on all continents.
2003 - Annual sales rise to a staggering 5 million personal care products.
Number of employees is 600.
Payer Shavers in New Zealand have been the exclusive agents for Payer
since 1955.
